Union organized the "Celebrate May Day, Drive Development" cultural and sports event during the May Day holiday period.

At 1:00 p.m. on April 28, 2017, all employees gathered at the entrance of the administrative cafeteria for the opening ceremony. Athletes lined up in an orderly manner as the host officially declared the event open. Vice General Manager Fan Jianming delivered the opening speech, while Shi Songjiang, Deputy Head of the Comprehensive Department and Head of the Referees Team, read out the rules for the sports competition. Finally, Trade Union Chairman Chen Zihua announced the discipline guidelines for the event.

At 1:40 PM, the fun activities officially kicked off, featuring the Crab Relay Race, Snowball Rolling Competition, and Unity Ball Passing Challenge. Teams from each workshop came together with unwavering determination and worked seamlessly as one. Cheerleaders rallied loudly to boost morale, and after two intense hours of competition, the top three winners for each event were announced.

At 1:00 p.m. on April 29, the tug-of-war competition officially kicked off with 18 teams formed from various workshops. Throughout the match, participants from each department gave their all, creating an intensely charged atmosphere—both on and off the field. As the two sides battled fiercely with no clear winner in sight, everyone remained determined and refused to back down, refusing to let up even for a moment. On the field, every athlete was brimming with determination, while the cheering squad erupted in enthusiastic support, rallying loudly to boost their teammates' spirits!

The closing ceremony of the event took place at 4:30 p.m., during which Shi Songjiang, Deputy Director of the Comprehensive Department and Head of the Judging Panel, announced the competition results. The top five teams in the Crab Relay Race were: Combined Chemical Analysis & Metrology Team, Filter Press Workshop Team, Manganese Ore Team, Logistics Joint Team No. 2, Electrolysis Workshop No. 4 Team, and Electrolysis Workshop No. 1 Team No. 2. In the Snowball Rolling Competition, the top five teams were: Manganese Ore Logistics Joint Team No. 1, Combined Chemical Analysis & Metrology Team, Electrolysis Workshop No. 4 Team, Electrolysis Workshop No. 1 Team No. 1, and Filter Press Workshop Team. For the Unity Pass Competition, the top five teams were: Electrolysis Workshop No. 1 Team No. 1, Filter Press Workshop Team, Electrolysis Workshop No. 1 Team No. 2, Electrolysis Workshop No. 2 Team, and Combined Chemical Analysis & Metrology Joint Team. Finally, the men’s tug-of-war saw the top three teams finish as follows: Electrolysis Workshop No. 2 Team, Electrolysis Workshop No. 3 Team, and Mechanical & Electrical Workshop Team. Meanwhile, the women’s tug-of-war was won by Electrolysis Workshop No. 3 Team, Party Branch Team, and Electrolysis Workshop No. 4 Team.

Company leaders presented certificates and cash prizes to representatives from the winning teams, sparking continuous applause from the audience. Finally, Ou Yinbo, Head of the Production Department, delivered the closing remarks, and the athletes gracefully made their way off the stage one by one, bringing the event to a successful close. Through this activity, employees not only fostered a strong sense of teamwork and collaboration but also deepened their interpersonal connections. As a result, everyone’s collective pride was significantly boosted—and most importantly, the event inspired each individual to embrace a spirit of perseverance, determination, and an optimistic, proactive approach to life.
