On May 23, 2018, the environmental-themed event "Beautiful China, I’m an Activist," hosted by the Jitian Subdistrict Office of Chengdu Tianfu New Area and organized by the Chenhui Xinmengag Social Service Center of Chengdu Tianfu New Area, was held simultaneously at the main venue in Jitian Primary School and the subvenue at Xirang Square.
The main event officially kicked off at 8:30 a.m., with the participation of school leaders, representatives from the street-level environmental office, staff from the social affairs and community development departments, volunteers, selected teachers and students from the elementary school, as well as 11 parents.
At the event's outset, school leaders delivered remarks and led students in an environmental pledge, followed by a signing ceremony on the eco-friendly wall. Next, the host provided an informative session on waste sorting and invited several students to participate in a hands-on recycling activity. In the eco-fashion design segment, students were randomly divided into 10 groups, with each group selecting a model to showcase their uniquely crafted, sustainable outfits during a stylish runway walk. Upholding the principle of green development, participants received small potted plants as thoughtful gifts. To conclude, all teachers and students gathered for a memorable group photo.
At the sub-venue in Xirang Square, staff members and village (community) environmental officers distributed over 1,000 eco-friendly flyers to residents, helping them better understand the importance of improving their environment. They also encouraged residents to consciously avoid any actions that harm the ecosystem, working together to protect our green home.
